Mr. Jerry Norris Triplett, 65, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in the James H. Quillen VAMC. Mr. Triplett was a native of Johnson County who had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of Hazel Norris Triplett and the late Henry Triplett. In addition to his father one sister, Susie Merritt; maternal grandparents, Vance McCoy Norris and Jane Norris; paternal grandmother, Rebecca Triplett Carroll also preceded him in death. Mr. Triplett was a U. S. Navy veteran. Survivors include: his mother, Hazel Norris Triplett; one daughter, Martha Jane Triplett of Indianapolis, Indiana; one son, Jerry Norris Triplett, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; one sister, Beth Bradford and her husband Wayne of Knoxville; one brother-in-law, Roy Merritt of Knoxville; one uncle, Charles Norris and his wife Fay of Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Amanda McEwen, Alexander Holbrook, Jr., Jennifer McEwen, Donovan Triplett, James Triplett, Gabriel Triplett, Tristan Triplett; one great-grandson, Damien Scott King; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to the patients and staff at the CLC. The family request that memorial contributions be made to Johnson City/Washington County Veterans Memorial, P.O. A memorial service for Mr. Jerry Norris Triplett will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, January 16, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Chaplain Kevin Holmes, Chaplain Bryan Pearson, Mr. Pete Williams and Rev. Rick Powell will officiate. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military rights. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday prior to the service.
