Jerry Wayne Wright, 72, Johnson City TN, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 17, 2020, at his home following a lengthy fight against Agent Orange.

Jerry was born in Bristol, Tennessee, a son of the late George and Audrey Wright.

Mr. Wright received his army basic training at Fort Gordon. He is a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War and been awarded 5 medals for that service. Jerry was a member of the VFW #2108. Mr. Wright was affiliated with and a member of the TSSAA for 22 years, where he officiated many football and baseball games.

Mr. Wright's Education included Virginia High School class of '65 and East Tennessee State class of '72.

Jerry was employed at Nabisco for 25 years, where he received many awards for his hard work.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Garrison.

Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Ann Wright; two sons, Robbie Wright and daughter-in-law Tara Wright, Billy Sampson and daughter-in-law Wendy Sampson; two daughters, Judy Mahler, Catherine Anne Cusack and son-in-law Patrick Cusack; grandchildren, Owen Wright , Easton Wright, Elizabeth Sampson, Ben Sampson, Stacey Ensor, Cullen Cusack, Catherine Cusack, Marcus Mahler; and great-grandchild, Liam Markland.

Graveside services will be conducted privately with a burial at Mountain Home National Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at a later date.
