Jewel Dean Clawson

Jewel Dean Clawson, 88, of Johnson City, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Christian Care Center of Johnson City. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late E. E. and Erma Blanche Esteppe Kilby. Jewel was retired from the Texas Instruments Corporation. She was a longtime member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and was very active and had served in many capacities earlier in her life. Jewel also had been an avid bowler and loved fishing. In addition to her parents, her husband, General Bill Clawson in 1993; three brothers, Vernon, Darwin and Raymond Kilby, preceded her in death. Survivors include: four brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Charlotte Kilby, Bob and Judy Kilby, Ron and Mary Lou Kilby, David and Helen Kilby all of Johnson City; two sisters, Eileen Rose and Carolyn Hodge both of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Bea Garland of Johnson City. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Chaplain Dwight MacPherson. A procession will leave Morris '? Baker Funeral Home at 10:40 am to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
