Jewell Sells Harlan, of Johnson City, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Appalachian Christian Village. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late William Abraham and Hattie Tolley Sells. Mrs. Harlan was bookkeeper for Sell Produce Company which she and her husband owned and operated for 57 years. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend and Servant, Mrs. Harlan will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She truly was one of a kind and a precious 'Jewell'? to us, and all the animals she adored so much. In addition to her parents, her husband of 61 years, James 'Lee'? Harlan, a sister, Agnes Arney, a brother, A. Jay Sells and a brother-in-law, Oscar Cox preceded her in death. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, James Lee Harlan, II and Donna of Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan Harlan Gibbons and Bobby Lee of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Dr. Bobby Lee Gibbons, II and wife Anne Childress Gibbons of Orlando, FL, Katherine Louise Hall and husband Dr. Noah M. Hall of Augusta, GA and Rebecca Leigh Harlan of Washington DC; a great granddaughter, Lily Rebecca Hall of Augusta, GA; a sister Pauline Sells Cox of Johnson City; two sisters-in-law Ethel Sells of Johnson City and Margaret Harlan of Gray; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, November 28, 2011 in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Dr. Jim Richter. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. A committal service will be conducted in the Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral service. Active pallbearers be : Gene Elliott, Dr. Bobby Lee Gibbons, II, Bill Greer, Dan Hatcher, Dean Owens and Tony Sifford. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: Appalachian Christian Village, 2012 Sherwood Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
