Jimmy L. (Fuzzy) Leonard, 75, of Roanoke, VA, passed away, Friday, November 24, 2006, after a courageous battle with Parkinson?s and Emphysema. Jimmy was born in Johnson City, TN, and was the son of the late L. G. and Ollie Mae Leonard. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He graduated from East Tennessee State University, in Johnson City, TN with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and came to Salem, VA as the General Manager of Medeco Security Lock Company in 1969. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Jo Norton Leonard; son and daughter-in-law, Robin F. and Ann Leonard, of Moneta, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia L. and Mike Gray, of Blue Ridge, VA; grandchildren, Cameron and Catherine Leonard, of Moneta, VA; sisters, Melba Goulding and Barbara Clark, of Johnson City, TN; aunts, Grace Brinkley, Tempie Honeycutt, and uncle, Dallas Honeycutt, all of Johnson City, TN; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to caregiver, Ann Wood, who so diligently and patiently cared for him. Graveside services for Mr. Leonard, will be conducted 10:00 am Monday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at Morris-Baker by 9:40 am Monday to go in procession to the cemetery for those services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday at Morris-Baker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825-A Electric Road SW, Roanoke, VA 24018.
