Jimmy Ray Rankin, 40, of Johnson City, beloved brother and uncle, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center with the love of his life, Cindy Powers, by his side. Jimmy was a Johnson City native. He was a son of the late Stephen Riley Rankin and Anglyn Osborne Lipford. Jimmy worked as a tire tech at Tire Barn. He loved to fish and was a dedicated worker. In addition to his parents, his stepfather, Jack Lipford, also preceded him in death. Survivors include: two children, Zachary Simms and Dillian Rankin; two sisters, Lori Slagle, and her husband Fred, and Angela 'Jo'? Marich; two brothers, Richard and Steve Rankin; a step brother, Ernie Lipford and step sister, Wendy Glaspie; nieces and nephews, Haley Slagle, Sumer Marich, Kody Marich, and Hunter Marich; and several other nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be conducted at the Harvest Time Baptist Church, 2404 Roseberry Lane, Johnson City, at 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2015 under the direction of Pastor Ben Hurd. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm.
