Joan Robertson

Joan Brockus Robertson, 81, of 3402 Boones Creek Village, Jonesborough, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Eden, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Annie Murphy Brockus. Joan was a retired employee of the Sullivan County A.S.C.S. Extension Office, having worked there for 31years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Robertson in 2003, a sister, Ruby Baldwin and a brother, Keene Brockus. She was a member of the Piney Flats Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances Adams of Johnson City, Kaye and James Turner of Ocala, Florida; a sister, Winona Hanks of Jonesborough; a grandson, Craig Adams of Asheville, North Carolina and several special nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Robert Rainwater. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at two. A committal service will be conducted following the funeral service in the Shell Cemetery, Piney Flats with burial immediately after. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
