Joan Ruth Hill

Joan Fillers Hill, 74, Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was a Johnson City native and the daughter of the late Bruce and Bonnie Fillers. Joan was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was loved dearly. Joan dedicated her life to her children and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her beloved daughter, Tiffinea Peters in 1991; four grandsons; two brothers; and one sister. Survivors include: her loving husband, Vernon Hill, of the home; six daughters, Sherry Hartsook Parrot and her husband Dean, Jonesborough, Tammy Hartsook Chapman and her husband Tony, Jonesborough, Penny Hartsook Moody, Jonesborough, Kimberly Hartsook Mejia and her husband Sergio, Johnson City, Kristian Hartsook Harney and her husband Brian, Johnson City, and Misty Bawgus Jones and her husband Jason, Elizabethton; one step daughter, Dawn Hill Abney and her husband Dennis, Michigan; one step son, Dale Hill and his wife Jessica, Minnesota; nine grandsons; four granddaughters; three step granddaughters; one step grandson; ten great grandsons; twenty great granddaughters; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mrs. Joan Fillers Hill will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, May 26, 2014 in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Mr. James Rowe will officiate. The committal service will follow at 2:45 pm Tuesday in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Travis Hall, Brian Peters, Anthony Chapman, Teddy Hartsook, Joseph Thompson, and Jason Jones. Honorary pallbearers are special grandsons, Dakota and Logan Jones.
