Joanne Margaret Morey

Joanne Margaret Morey, 65, of Johnson City, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Appalachian Christian Village. She was a native of New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Billsboro Cordeiro. Joanne was a retired dietician with GNC Stores. She was a member of the Johnson City Seventh Day Adventist Church and prepared the church newsletter. Joanne was a volunteer at both Tacoma Hospital in Greeneville and the Johnson City Medical Center until her health prevented her from doing these activities. In addition to her parents, her husband, John James Morey, Sr. preceded her in death in 2012. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Allen King of Johnson City; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Judy Morey of Johnson City; two brothers, David Cordeiro of FL and Joe Cordeiro of MS; four sisters, Peggy Place of MA, Cheryl Godinho of MA, Mary Lou Carlin of NC and Ann Marie Russell of MA; seven grandchildren, Mikey, Missie, Jr., Jessie, John, Drew and Madison; six great grandchildren, Robert (PeeWee), Randy (Bubby), Ricky (ReRe), Lucas, Lydia and Isaac; several nieces and nephews. Joanne is to be cremated and a private burial with her husband at Mt. Home National Cemetery is to follow.
