Joe Loren Bradshaw

July 16, 1952 — December 27, 2012

Joe Loren Bradshaw, 60, of Piney Flats, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Emery E. Bradshaw and Dorothy Mae Barnett Mays. Joe was a painter and had worked for the VAMC and won an award for Historical Restoration for painting the Clock Tower at the VAMC. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and had been an amateur boxer in his youth. Joe was a veteran of the Vietnam Era and had served in the United States Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Jean Heaton. Survivors include: a son, Jessie Loren Bradshaw of Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kay and Steven Quiggle of Kingsport; grandchildren, Abagail Bales, C. J. Bales and Hayden Quiggle; a sister and a brother-in-law, Earnestine and Billy G. Grace of Johnson City; special friends, Sally Chandler and Bill and Linda Harrell; several nieces and nephews; his dog 'Pugsy'?. A memorial service for Joe Loren Bradshaw will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Jim Pollock and Rev. Garland Thayer will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Able, Donnie Carrier, Buster Copas, Brian Stout, Jonathan Mendo, Mike Lafferty, Bill Harrell, Bill Grace and the Engineering Dept. of the VAMC. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday at Morris-Baker prior to the service. Special thanks to: Sally Chandler, the staff of the CLC for all the excellent care given to Joe during his illness.
