John Alfred Taylor

August 29, 1951 — January 4, 2022

John Alfred Taylor, 70, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

He was the son of the late Landon C. Taylor and Patricia Mace Jones.

He graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1969, afterward he was drafted into the U.S. Army infantry and stationed in Germany.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carter Taylor and David Taylor.

Those left to cherish his memory are: Sandy Taylor; children, Niki Taylor Combs (Matt) and David Taylor; grandson, Clay “Boy” Combs; sisters, Ann Taylor (Everett), Susan Scott (Melvin), and Mary Hunt (Tom); brother, Robert Taylor (Kim); best friends, Tim Hurd and Bobby Carr; brothers-in-law, Junior Kelly (Tammy) and David Kelly (Tricia); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19, no public service will be held. John will be laid to rest at Mountain Home National Cemetery, following a private cemetery with military honors rendered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a program of your choice at the Mountain Home VA.
