John Franklin Jenkins

John Franklin Jenkins, age 77, of 2705 McKinley Park #4, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Johnson City Medical Center.He was a native of Butler, Tennessee but had lived in the Johnson City area most of his adult life.He was the son of the late Mary Vivian Harman Jenkins and the late Fred Herman JenkinsMr. Jenkins was employed before retirement at Zak?s Furniture Store as a salesman.He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by a son, Larry Jenkins, a brother, Jim Jenkins and a sister, Alta Baskette.He is survived by his wife, Helen Presnell Jenkins; five sons, Steve Jenkins and Randy Jenkins of Limestone, Ricky Jenkins of Jonesborough, Danny Jenkins of Johnson City, Shawn Jenkins of Fall Branch; two daughters, Dawn Hill and Denise Tesnear of Jonesborough; one sister, Maxine Roberson of Molina, Florida; one brother, Bill Jenkins of Limestone; twelve grandchildren, Randy Jenkins, Stevie Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins, Ashley Hill, Brandon Hill, Aaron Hill, Johnathan Hill, Phillip Teasner, Robert Teasner, Natalie Jenkins, Logan Jenkins and Michelle James; three great grandchildren, Cody Jenkins, Tyler Orton and Vanessa Jenkins.Funeral services for John Jenkins will be held Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 8:00 PM at Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Rev. Gary Hill and Rev. Phil Reed will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday. On Sunday at 2:00 PM, friends and family will meet at Morris-Baker to go in procession to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Graveside services and burial will be at 3:00 PM, military honors will be accorded by Kingsport VFW Post 3382.
