Johnson City, TN- John G. Love II, 49, of Johnson City, TN, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Friday, January 25, 2008. He was born in Johnson City, TN on June 1, 1958, the son of John G. and Etta Morgan Love, Robins Roost, Johnson City. He will be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, family member and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a graduate of the University High School at ETSU with honors. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design. He then graduated from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, with a Master in Landscape Architecture Degree with honors. He was a member of Downtown Christian Church in Johnson City. He was the owner and CEO of LandHelp.com, LLC, as well as worked closely with his father at John G. Love Real Estate, Inc. in Johnson City. He was a member of Northeast Association of Realtors and CLARB. He was former Treasurer of Real Estate Examination Review Committee. He was past president of the Tennessee Chapter of Architects & Engineers Licensure. He was a licensed Landscape Architect in TN, VA, KY,NC, and FL. He was a member of Johnson City Tree & Appearance Board and former board member and chairman of the Johnson City Development Authority. He was also a member of PI ALPHA XI, SIGMA LAMBDA ALPHA, and ALPHA ZETA. Some of his landscape artist work include projects at: the Mountain Home National Cemetery; Carnegie Park, Johnson City; Eastman Chemical Company, Kingsport, TN; Johnson City Power Board Corporate Headquarters, Johnson City; Downtown Johnson City Master Planning; Virginia High School, Bristol, VA; Wetlands Water Park in Jonesborough; Floodplain Management Program in the State of Louisiana/FEMA, in Baton Rouge; Johnson City Medical Center; East Tennessee State University and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL; among many others. In addition to his parents,he is survived by: three sons, Adam Love, of Wilmington, NC, John G. Love III, of Nashville, TN and Paul Love, Johnson City; one granddaughter; his former wife, Donna McKenzie; three brothers, Steve Love of Blountville, and nephew Steven Love II of Johnson City, Tim and David Mayer of Knoxville; three sisters Melissa Love, Johnson City, Amelia Tyer, Chattanooga, and Linda Larsens Love, Harrisburg, NC; and a very special friend, Wes Fridley, of Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, January 27, 2008 in the Downtown Christian Church in Johnson City. A funeral service in the church will follow at 4 PM with Dr.W. Edward Fine, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Carroll and Brent Billheimer. The graveside service will be conducted Monday, January 28, 2008 at 12 noon at Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Love II, Wes Fridley, Derek Eikenberry, Brent Billheimer, David Atchley, and Steve Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Youngwall, Dr. Robert Rowe,Jr., Fred Amason, Rick Carroll and Brett Stigall. Memorial gifts may be made to Downtown Christian Church, Landscape Fund, 335 East Main Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
