John James Morey, Jr.

Mr. John James Morey, Jr., of Johnson City, passed away November 23, 2012, at the age of 63. Jack, as he was called, was eldest son of the late John James Morey, Sr. and Anna Vinacco Morey. He grew up in Taunton, Massachusetts, served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict, married Joanne Cordeiro Morey and together they raised two children. He was known as a 'Jack-of-all-Trades'? and enjoyed doing anything that required time and tools. For the past several years Jack has been a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Johnson City where he served for a time as the head deacon. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Joanne Morey; one son, Jason Andrew Morey and his wife Judy of Johnson City; one daughter, Jennifer M. King and her husband Allen of Piney Flats; three sisters, Lucille A. Payne of Goldendale, WA. Anna M. Avilla of Everett, WA. and Jane E. Nolette of Bellows Falls, VT. two brothers, David J. Morey of Saxtons River, VT and Alfred E. Morey of Fort Lauderdale, FL.; seven grandchildren, John Beamer, Drew Beamer, Madison Beamer, Mikey Allvord King, Missie King, Allen King Jr, and Jessica King; and three great grandchildren. A memorial service for John James Morey, Jr. will be conducted at 12:30 PM Friday November 30, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Paull Dixon will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathaniel Greene, Jake Noelette, Adam Noelotte, David Morey II, Jared Morey and Brian Morey. The Boone Dam Post #4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rolling Thunder or the Veteran Center.
