John Kenneth Blackburn, Jr.

December 23, 1973 — June 18, 2019

John Kenneth Blackburn, Jr., 45, Watauga, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Johnny was born in Greenfield, IN to John Kenneth Blackburn, Sr. and Janice Blackburn.
Johnny loved writing and recording music. He was a part of the band RevLow, and he considered his bandmates his brothers.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: his soulmate, Cari Braasch; son, Bailey Braasch; several aunts, uncles and cousins; beloved pet companion, Athena; and special friend, John “Mule” Lawson.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 3300 wing of JCMC and his Nephrologist, Dr. Wiegand, and Tonya for their care. Also, a very special thank you to Gerald Braasch for everything he did for Johnny.
Friends and family may visit at Johnny’s home or Janice’s home.
A committal service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Carr Cemetery, with Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Please meet at the cemetery by 2:50 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daniel Boone Marching Band, 1440 Suncrest Dr., Gray, TN 37615 or Slagles United Methodist Church, Children’s Music School, 285 Old Watauga Rd., Elizabethton, TN 37643.
