John Thomas ?Bud' Stewart, 72, of Johnson City, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Dant, Virginia, son of the late Wiley A. and Ethel Mae Byrd Stewart. Bud was a retired dock Supervisor for Johnson City Chemical Company. He was a member of the Gospel Light Tabernacle. Bud loved to hunt, fish and work his crossword puzzles and watch wrestling on TV. In addition to his parents, five brothers and seven sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife, Shirley Dugger Stewart of the home; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Johnny and Brenda Stewart of Kingsport and Charles Allen and Rachel Stewart of Johnson City; two daughters and a son-in-law, Missy and Mike Branch of Johnson City and Angie Leslie of Johnson City; two brothers, Ed Stewart and wife Gail of Telford and David Stewart of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Justin, Brett, Johnny, Jonas, Jeremiah, Daphne, Tessa, Jada, Leah and Alaina; seven great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bud Dugger; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 11:00am until 12:00 pm at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Rev. Eddie Johnson. A committal service is scheduled in the Washington County Memory Gardens following the funeral. Active pallbearers will be: Jonathan, Justin, Jake, Brett, Allen and Mike; honorary pallbearers will be: David and Taylor.
