Johnny Howard Tipton

June 6, 1970 — April 20, 2015

Mr. Johnny Howard Tipton, 44, of Kingsport, was called home on Monday, April 20, 2015, at his residence from an apparent heart attack. Mr. Tipton was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was the son of Doyle G. and Florean Tipton. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jacqueline Honeycutt and grandparents, William McKinley and Myrtle Moore Tipton. Mr. Tipton proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather who was loved greatly and will be missed dearly. In addition to his parents, survivors include: his son, Jonathan B. Tipton, of Fort Hood, TX; sister, Melanie Stephens and her husband Stewart, of Johnson City; one granddaughter, Ava Marie Tipton; three nieces, Kaley Stephens, Lindsey Stephens, and Emily Stephens, all of Johnson City; and grandfather, Howard Honeycutt, of Unicoi. The family of Mr. Johnny Howard Tipton will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, April 26, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Charles Brooks officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:45 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
