Jolene Bennett Rupe

Jolene Bennett Rupe, Gray, passed away July 31, 2016 at her daughter?s home after a courageous battle while being cared for by her son, daughter, and hospice. Born September 23, 1943 to the late Clifford and Fannie Bennett in Buladean, NC. She moved to TN as a small child, and lived in Gray most of her life. She was of Baptist faith. Jolene was a strong-minded person who loved her family. She was a huge sports enthusiast of all kinds. She loved her trips to Cherokee with her granddaughters. Her dog, Annabella, was her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Roy Lee Rupe; three brothers, Roy, Ray and Bill Bennett; and one sister, Mary Bennett. Those left to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Susan and her husband Martin Cash; sons, Steve Rupe and special friend Sandi Johnson, Scott Rupe, and Jason Glover; grandchildren, Wendy and her husband Robbie Shelton, Kristi and her husband Teddy Gibson, Kevin and Sherry Lane, Heather and her husband Mark Jones, and Amanda Rupe; great grandchildren, Blake Shelton, Cooper Gibson, Austin and Katie Lane, Rowan Mills, Dairbhre Jones and Lucy Jones; one great great grandson, Gannon Shelton; one sister, Gail and her husband Vernon Isenberg, and many nieces and nephews. The family of Jolene Rupe will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Scalf officiating. Pallbearers will be: Robbie and Blake Shelton, Teddy Gibson, Kevin Lane, Austin Lane, and Mark Jones. Honorary pallbearers include: Steve and Scott Rupe, Jason Glover, and Martin Cash. Graveside services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
