Jonathan Lee Ward

Jonathan “Jon” Ward, 76, of Greeneville, TN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at his home surrounded by friends. Jon was born in Harrison, TN but resided most of his life in the Johnson City/Greeneville area.

Jon attended the Dawn of Hope for 20+ years before the program’s end in 2021, and he had many friends there. He enjoyed having his morning coffee and going out to eat with his friends when he was able. Later in life he slowed down and enjoyed playing his guitars, working with this fishing poles, and spending time with the two special ladies that he lived with. Jon had a sweet spirit and was thankful for every day he had.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Lee Ward and Mildred Imogene Gooch, along with his two best friends, Dennis Pritchard and Terry Smith. He is survived by two companions, the loving ladies that cared for and adored him.

Receiving of friends for Jon will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City. A funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM, with committal held immediately afterward at Fairview Cemetery, 1033 Leesburg Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659. Pallbearers will be friends.
