Joseph Bryan Garden, Jr.

Mr. Joseph Bryan Garden, Jr., 80, of Johnson City, passed away with his loved ones surrounding him on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home. Mr. Garden was a native of Washington County.He served in the Army National Guard.He was preceded in death by his mother, Vida Marie Love Garden, his father, Joseph Bryan Garden, Sr., and a brother, John Garden.He was a freewill Baptist and attended many churches during the 17 years with his New Beginning Gospel Quartet.He enjoyed billiards, fishing, being outdoors and playing his harmonica. Survivors include; his wife of 59 years, Savannah Ruth Peters Garden; five children, Sandra Roberts of Knoxville, Jackie Garden of Johnson City, Kenith Garden of Telford, Jeff Garden of Johnson City and Angie McQueen of Johnson City, thirteen Grandchildren; sixteen Great Grandchildren; one brother, Robert Garden; two sisters, Josephine Mottern and Imogene Kelly and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, October 13, 2011 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Lenny Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jackie Garden, Kenith Garden, Danny Miller, Chris Roberts, Gary Roberts and Charles McQueen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until l8:00 pm.
