Joseph Edwards

Joseph R. 'Joe' Edwards, 55, of Telford, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Telford, son of the late Levi Chandler and Bessie Lee Price Edwards. Joe was a masons assistant in the construction business. He was a member of the New Victory Baptist Church. Joe donated items to the New Victory Church Help Center. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, working outdoors, and planting and tending his flowers. Joe liked going to flea markets and collecting angels and stuffed animals. He also collected and recycled aluminum cans. Survivors include: four sisters, Judy Evaul of Palm Coast, FL, Janice Kirkland of Mechanicsville, VA, Becky (Jack) McKee of Telford, and Nancy M. Smith of Limestone; five brothers, Gene Edwards of Port Orange, FL, Robert Edwards of Telford, Gary (Carol) Shanks of Morristown, Larry (Rebecca) Edwards of Limestone, and Charles Edwards of Telford; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. The family of Joe Edwards will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm Wednesday under the direction of Rev. Jeremy Dykes. A committal service is scheduled for 3:15 pm on Wednesday in the Edwards Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
