Joseph Ryan Phillips, 20, Johnson City, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his residence. Joseph was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and the son of John and Robin Bellar Phillips. He was a full-time student at ETSU who also worked for his family business, John Phillips Painting. Joseph was a member of St. Elizabeth?s Catholic Church, Elizabethton. He was an athlete and an avid sports fan. He also loved playing his guitar and listening to music. When he volunteered, it was in service to the homeless. Joseph was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Doyle and Georgia Phillips. Survivors include: his parents, John and Robin Phillips, Johnson City; two sisters, Lillie Phillips, Doylestown, PA, and Annie Phillips, Johnson City; grandparents, Daniel and Teresa Bellar, Johnson City; aunts and uncles, Kenneth and Lynn Phillips, Johnson City, Robin and Tommy Keene, Mountain City, David Phillips, Johnson City, Tonya and Michael Clay, St. Augustine, FL; Tammy Shelton, Orlando, FL, and Ralph Shelton, Clearwater, FL; and several cousins. The family of Joseph Phillips will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted 10:00 am Monday, May 16, 2016, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Kress officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh Phillips, Steve Mascola, Odell Cash, Jasen Wells, Justin Wiseman, Raymond McBride, Rayne Price, and Keith Toth. Honorary pallbearers will be William Reed and Dan Camden. Following the funeral mass, family and friends will proceed to Roselawn Memory Gardens for committal services. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Haven of Mercy, P.O.
