Josephine Janet Ryan, 77, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Josephine was born in Sullivan County to the late John and Zelma Spears; but spent most of her life in Washington County. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by: her husband, William Paul Ryan; one son, John William Ryan; two brothers, Roy and John Spears; and one great grandchild, October Connelly. Survivors include: three children, Lisa Bowery and her husband Russell, of Kingsport, Kenith Ryan and his wife Charlotte, of Johnson City, and Juanita Wyatt and her husband Craig, of Gray; two grandchildren, Kylie Connelly and Logan Wyatt; three great grandchildren, Makenzie, Dexter and Oliver Connelly; two sisters, Gladys Bethany and Aldie Whitaker and one twin sister, Imogene ?Jean' Ryan; one brother, Ray Spears; and special nieces and nephew, Kathy Crawford, Amy Dyer and Jamie Ryan. The family would like to thank all the nurses in the ICU at Holston Valley for their care. The family of Josephine Ryan will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2018, at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 3, 2018, at Morris-Baker with Rev. Dennis Spears officiating. Pallbearers include: Jamie Ryan, John Crawford, Jeff Connelly, David Doan, Josh Norton and Greg Salyer. The committal service will take place at 12:30 PM Thursday at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesborough. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 12:20 PM.
