Joyce Buck

Joyce Buck, 73, of Gray, was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family. She went to join her husband J. D. of 52 years on July 27, 2015. Joyce had suffered a long battle with health problems. Joyce was a loving wife to J. D. and devoted mother to her son Chad. She was a longtime active member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church family. She retired after working many years in banking from BB&T Bank. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time at cookouts; holiday gatherings and watching Greyson and Claire play sports. Some of her favorite activities included cooking, playing cards and shopping. In addition to her husband J. D., her parents, Oney Keevil and Rebecca Alma Scott Leonard; a brother, Robert W. Leonard and a nephew, Jason Cansler, preceded her in death. Survivors include: her son, Jerome Chad Buck of Johnson City; her sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Michael Cansler of Gray; a special brother-in-law, Arthur Buck and wife, Brenda of Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Betty Leonard of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; special great niece and nephew, Claire and Greyson Nave. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 6pm to 8:00 pm until time of funeral service at 8:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel of the Morris ? Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Paul Crowe and Rev. Howard Ray. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with a procession leaving the Morris-Baker Funeral Home at 9:40 am.
