Joyce Evelyn Johnson, age 70, 346 Conklin Road, Jonesborough, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at her residence. Mrs. Johnson was a Washington County, TN native who had lived in Maryland prior to returning to Washington County thirty years ago. She was the daughter of the late John Tip and Jeanette Jennings Bawgus. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Westerly Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Willis Keith Johnson, of the home; two sons, Alen Johnson, Johnson City, and Richard Johnson, Conway, SC; two daughters, Debbie Ford, Limestone, and Pamela Hipps, Greenville; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; one step-great grandchild; and one great grandchild on the way. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Michael Anglin and Rev. Kenneth Kyker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Clint Nelson, Gary Whetsell, James Allen Surber, Scott Dickerson, Chris Vance, and Pete Hipps. Honorary pallbearers will be J. C. Jennings and Bud Ford. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to the U. S. National Cemetery at Mountain Home for committal services. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
