Juanita Gupton

She battled cancer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her children will miss her very much. She is now in Gods hands. From her loving daughter, Susan and her three sons Jim, Glen and Dan. Juanita Gupton, (nee Walters), 84, formerly of Johnson City, passed away on July 5, 2008 in Clearwater, Florida.She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gupton, and her sister, Irene Walters. She was born in Bluefield, WVA on May 12, 1924. She worked at East Tennessee State University. She was a member of the Sweet Adelins, an active bridge player and a former member of Clark Street Baptist Church. Juanita is survived by her children; Susan Brickley Crawford, Jim, Glen and Dan Brickley; step son, Bill Gupton; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; sister Ruth Harvey, of Bluefield, WVA; a niece and two nephews.A Memorial service was planned at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 10, 2012, followed by burial at Monte Vista Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Juanitas name to the American Cancer Society.
