Juanita June Paris Floyd

Juanita June Paris Floyd, 88, of Piney Flats, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Greystone Health Care Center in Blountville. Juanita was a native of Keokuk, Iowa. She was a daughter of the late Earl and Rosetta McKinney Paris. In 1946 Juanita married Harry Edwin Floyd, who was serving in the Air Force near Tampa, Florida. They moved to Piney Flats soon after and made their home there. Juanita and Harry were married for 66 years before his in death in 2012. Before her retirement, Mrs. Floyd worked as an electronics tester at North Electric, which later became ITT North. She enjoyed crocheting and making afghans. She was a member of Piney Flats Freewill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one son, Steve Floyd and his wife Robin; three grandchildren, Kevin, Kim, and Marli; five great grandchildren, Rachel, Haiden, Zackary, Kaylee, and Mackenzie; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Donna Hyatt, Pam Barr, and Jerry Pierce. The family of Juanita June Floyd will receive friends from 5 pm to 6:30 pm Friday, November 13, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Oak Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 6:30 pm Friday under the direction of Rev. Larry Barr. A committal service is scheduled for 1:45 pm Monday, November 16, 2015 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery at 1:40 pm Monday. The Floyd family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Greystone Health Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.
