Judith Newland

Judith Sims Newland, 80, of Johnson City died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Cornerstone Village. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late Wilson McKinney and Sally Isabelle DeVault Sims. Judith was retired secretary for the Credit Bureau. She was a member of the First Christian Church since 1965 and a member of the Winakuple Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, a half-sister, Margaret Miller and a brother-in-law, Herman Miller; a niece had all preceded her in death. Survivors include: her husband of 53 years, Harold Newland of the home; a sister, Jennie Ottinger, Johnson City; two nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service is to follow in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Dr. Eugene Wigginton and Donald Mushayamunda at 1:00 pm. Mike Imboden is to provide music. A committal service is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 2:50 pm. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
