Judy Lynn Gammon, born on December 7, 1947, in Abingdon, VA, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, in Kingsport, TN. Judy was a dedicated social worker whose compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on the lives of many in her community.
Judy was preceded in death by her father Julian Sweet, her mother Novella Quillen and her brother Jim Sweet. She is remembered fondly by her two sons, Lynn and Michael Gammon, her daughter-in-law Jamie Gammon and her grandson Henry Gammon. Judy earned her bachelor's degree, which was the stepping stone to her career in government, where she dedicated her life to helping others.
Judy has left a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her legacy of love and support will live on through her family and friends. We will always cherish the memories we created with her.
Judy will be laid to rest at 1900 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, TN. The Gammon family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Morris Baker Funeral Home. The family invites everyone who knew Judy to come together to celebrate her life and the love she shared.
A funeral service will follow at 12:00 at Morris Baker, and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
