Judy Lewis Oliver, 55, lost her battle with cancer in her home on Saturday, November 24, 2007. She was a native of Aiken, South Carolina, a daughter of Boyd and Wanda Linville Lewis. Judy was a graduate of Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University. She was a retired teacher in Washington County, having taught at both Barnes Elementary and Sulphur Springs Elementary. She was a member of East Watauga Avenue Baptist Church. Judy was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. D.H. Linville and Mr. & Mrs. W.M. Lewis. Survivors include: her loving husband of 34 years, James Oliver; parents, Boyd Lewis, Sr. and Wanda Linville Lewis; a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd Lewis, Jr. and Patsy; a niece and her husband, Jada Lewis Michael Chen; a very special great nephew, Aidan Lewis Chen; father & mother-in-law, Jim and Pauline Oliver; several aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Estel Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be cousins. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession by 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
