Julane W. Lowe, 90, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Cornerstone Village, following a brief illness. Julane was a native of Newport, TN but had lived in Johnson City since 1937. She was a daughter of the late Wesley H. and Judith Sexton Williams. Julane was a 1943 graduate of Science Hill High School. She retired from Sun Trust Bank as a vice president and assistant comptroller in the accounting department. She was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer for 30 years. She was also involved in the children?s Sunday School and assisted in the library for many years. Julane was an avid tennis player and loved to play the piano. She served as treasurer for many local organizations throughout her lifetime. She also served in Billy Graham?s telephone ministries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Sue Lowe Buckingham, and brother, George ?Tony' Williams. Survivors include: one son, Stephen H. Lowe and his wife Nancy; two grandchildren, Jason Lowe and Stephanie Edwards and her husband Michael; great granddaughter, Ashleigh Edwards; sister, Elizabeth Ann Lacy; two brothers, James H. Williams and David Brent Williams; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Julane W. Lowe will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm Monday, February 1, 2016 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral will follow at 6 pm Monday under the direction of Dr. Ron Murray. A committal service is scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 9:30 am Tuesday. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, 300 N. Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601.
