Mrs. June H. Tate, 76, of 711 Crowell Lane, Johnson City died Friday, May 1, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Tate was a native of Shell Creek, who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Virgil C. and Bertha Shell Miller. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Richardson; two brothers, Edward Miller and Hall Miller. Mrs. Tate was a homemaker and a former employee of the SPS Call Center. She was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School in Johnson City and Stoney Creek. Survivors include: her husband of fifty-six years, Bobby J. Tate of the home; one son, Jackie Tate of Johnson City; two sisters, Mildred Miles of Piney Flats and Faye Arnett and her husband Leon of Bristol; four grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. June H. Tate will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, May 4, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Allen Campbell and Dr. Reggie Weems will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
