Katherine Love Morgan Lilly

Katherine Love Morgan 'Gigi'? Lilly, 93, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at NHC Health Care in Johnson City. Gigi was an Erwin native and a daughter of the late John Clayton and Carrie Pauline Roberts Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Eugene Lilly; brother, John Morgan; and two sisters, Elizabeth Morgan Garland and Mary Sue Forsythe. Gigi was a former loan officer at Peoples Bank. She was an active member of Grandview Christian Church, where she worked as church secretary and also taught Sunday-school for many years. Gigi added an artistic flair to everything she did. She was a talented drawer, painter, and sculptor. She also made special invitations with calligraphy and was an accomplished master quilter. Gigi was known to all as a true lady. She was very caring, loving, and generous. Survivors include: four children, Robert Eugene Lilly, Johnson City, Jacqueline Sue Garland, Swannanoa, NC, Ivan Monroe Lilly (Leah), Johnson City, and Hal Lynn Lilly (Colleen), San Diego, CA; eight grandchildren, Tess Lilly Oerly (Sam), Johnson City, Dallas Monroe Lilly (Dana), Johnson City, Katherine Leigh Garland (Jeff Reid), Washington DC, Holly Lilly, Johnson City, Ashley Lilly Cutshaw, Colorado Springs, CO, Jason Jones, Johnson City, Melissa Lilly Rogers (Jessie), San Diego, CA, and Jennifer Lilly, San Diego, CA; eight great grandchildren, Mae and Caiden Lilly, Johnson City, Morgan and Graham Reid, Washington DC, Jasmine Lilly, Johnson City, Brayden and Coraline Cutshaw, Colorado Springs, CO, and Owen Hester, Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; and special canine friend, 'Thomas Jefferson Garland'?. A memorial service is scheduled for 5 pm Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Grandview Christian Church. Dr. Aaron Wymar will officiate. A committal service will be conducted at 2:30 pm Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend at the cemetery Wednesday.
