Kathleen Mary Lashomb

Kathleen Mary LaShomb, 62, Johnson City, TN, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, surrounded by family and friends at Johnson City Medical Center. Originally from Lawrenceville, NY, Kathleen has been a transplant in Johnson City for approximately 40 years. She loved this area and enjoyed all the craft festivals it had to offer. She fully enjoyed traveling via cruises, bus trips, and day trips; especially to Cherokee, NC, and as always, trips back home to northern NY brought her great joy. After receiving her BSN from East Tennessee State University and her Masters in Educaiton from Phoenix University, she retired from Johnson City Medical Center after 35 years in nursing. In addition to her parents, Harvey and Barbara LaShomb, she was preceded in death by, her brother, Jerome ?Jerry' LaShomb. Survivors include: her partner of 40 years, Marlene Steenberg; her brothers, Keith F. LaShomb, John H. LaShomb and his wife Sharon, Gordon L. LaShomb and his wife Carolyn, Nelson J. LaShomb and his wife Marilyn; sisters, Lucille B. Jock and her husband LeRoy, and Karen V. Tipton and her husband Anthony; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; Haley and Mattie, who always had a very special place in her heart; and her extended family at Boone Hill Court community. The family of Kathleen LaShomb will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Mike Richards officiating. Pallbearers will be: Keith LaShomb, John LaShomb, Gordon LaShomb, Nelson LaShomb, Wayne Steenberg, Johnny LaShomb and Jason LaShomb. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Thursday to go in procession to Monte Vista Memorial Park for 10:00 AM graveside services.
