Kathleen Nickels Cothran

Kathleen Nickels Cothran, 84, of Johnson City, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Appalachian Christian Village. She was a native of Dant, Virginia a daughter of the late W. A. and Myrtle Osborne Nickels. Kathleen was a retired owner of the Boones Creek Marina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Howard Stewart and her second husband, Dean Cothran, a grandson, Eddie Cothran and a special friend, Carl Howell.Survivors include: her son, Sonny Cothran of Fort Myers, Florida; a granddaughter, Shannon C. Lawson of Tampa, Florida; a grandson, Keith Cothran of Cape Coral, Florida; two great grandchildren, Tripp and Sunni Lawson; a niece, Nancy Burbridge and a nephew, Bob Sams.A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel of the Monte Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Rev. Wayne White. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Washington County Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 783, Johnson City, TN 37601 or the United Way of Johnson City '' Washington County, 926 W. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37064.
