Katie Campbell

Katie L. Campbell, 94, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018, at NHC Healthcare Center. Katie was born in Unicoi County to the late Geter and Cora Howell. She spent 33 years living in Columbia, South Carolina, where she was an award-winning employee for the K-Mart Corporation. After moving back to the Tri-Cities area, Katie was very active in her church, Greenwood Baptist. She was confident in her life with the Lord, and loved to spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Campbell; one son, Billy Wayne Campbell; two sisters, Cleeta Painter and Eva Babb. Survivors include: one brother, George Howell; two sisters, Georgia Bawgus and Mayme Boyd; as well as several nieces and nephews with whom she had a very grandmotherly relationship. The family of Katie Campbell will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM Monday, January 22, 2018, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8 PM. A graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. Katies family would like to thank Sam and the staff of the NHC, along with the hospice team for their dedication and care.
