Katrina Nell Bawgus

Katrina Nell Bawgus, 79, of 481 Cedar Grove Road, Johnson City, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Lakebridge Health Care Center. She was a native of Konarock, Virginia, daughter of the late Harrison and Flossie Blevins Griffin. Katrina was a homemaker and attended the Martindale Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence James Bawgus; a son, Carl Bawgus; four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: a daughter, Patsy Hensley of Elizabethton; two sisters, Ada Curtis of Johnson City and Betty Hyatt of Blountville; a brother, Roy Griffin of Indiana; several cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel under the direction of Rev. Dale Ball. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Cemetery in Carter County. Active pallbearers will be: Josh Terry, Danny Curtis, Eddie Bowman, David Dawson, Dillon Dawson and Dillon Dawson, II. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
