With profound sadness we announce the passing of Keith Franklin, who passed away peacefully on October, 25th surrounded by his loving family. Leaving behind a legacy of brilliance, curiosity, and compassion. Keith was a man of extraordinary intellect whose deep insights and tireless pursuit of knowledge inspire all who knew him. He honorably served his country for more than a decade in the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, who was the love of his life, Christie Franklin, two remarkable sons, Gage Gamble, and Zachary Franklin, and a step-daughter, Sarah Allison, who loved her bonus dad, devoted and loving mother, Pat Shortridge, sister and best friend, Melissa Bandy, and his cherished grandmother, Hannah Taylor, whom he loved more than life itself.
A celebration of Keith's life will be held at 2:00 pm on November 2nd at Cedar Bluff Community Church, 517 Honey Rock Road, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the celebration.
Keith Franklin's legacy will endure in the lives he touched, the knowledge he shared, and the wisdom he imparted. His profound intellect and compassionate heart will be missed deeply, but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Keith.
