Kenneth Earney 'K. E.'? Wilhoit, 98, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his residence. He was a native of Chuckey in Greene County, son of the late Earney and Ruby Jane Odell Wilhoit. In addition to his parents, his wife of 73 years Katherine Watts Young Wilhoit; a brother, Floyd Wilhoit; sister, Irene Landers; and great grandson Jackson Rice preceded him in death. Kenneth was Vice President and General Manager of ET &WNC Transportation Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, member of the Big Brothers Class, Board Member & Superintendent of Sunday School. Served in Company 1455 of CCC. President of Johnson City Jaycees and Vice President of State Jaycees, President & lifetime member of Metropolitan Kiwanis Club, Washington County School Board, Johnson City Power Board, Board of Directors of Sun Trust Bank, Board of Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, President of Tennessee Motor Transport Association, ETSU Foundation Century Club, Board Member of Blue Ridge Management of Corporation. Survivors include his two daughters, Jane Wilhoit Anderson of Johnson City and Nancy Wilhoit Norris and husband Steve of Nashville; son, Timothy Kenneth Wilhoit and wife Donna of Windermere, FL; three grandchildren, Judy Rice and husband Herman, Janna Counts and husband Scott all of Johnson City and Katie Stone and husband Jarrod of Nashville; eight great grandsons, Johnathon Brandt, Zach Rice, Brayden Rice, Owen Counts, Fletcher Counts, Briar Stone, Derrick Rice and Bryn Rice; a brother, Lynn Wilhoit of Greeneville; a sister, 'Deanie'? Dorothy Reese of Huddleston, VA; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Garland Thayer. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service 2:00 p.m. A committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Ted Garland, Jim Holt, Herman Rice, Scott Counts, Jarrod Stone, Gene Shelton, Bud Rupert, and Johnathon Brandt. Honorary pallbearer: Aldon Speer The family would like to express thanks to the Senior Citizens Service of Blountville for their love and special care. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 900 Spring Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
