Kenneth Wayne Jefferson

May 7, 1933 — March 8, 2020

Kenneth Wayne Jefferson, age 86, of Johnson City, Tennessee died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Kenneth was born May 7, 1933 in the District of Columbia to Witmer Jefferson and Ola “Mae” Kidwell Jefferson. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from ETSU. Kenneth also served in the United States Air Force and retired after 24 years. During his service with the Air Force he was a flight simulator instructor and he volunteered his time tutoring others on base in math. After retirement, he worked Veteran Affairs as an electronics engineer.

Kenneth was of the Christian faith.

Shooting pool was one of his favorite past-times. He also enjoyed playing cards and Rummy games on Saturday nights. Kenneth was a “foodie” and he loved going to restaurants. He was such an intelligent man; he was always working on inventions and coming up with new ideas. Kenneth didn’t know a stranger. His family and friends will always remember his sense of humor and silly jokes.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his sisters, Jane (and Johnny) Frazier, Margie (and Don) Albright, and Sue Redding; and brother, Bob Jefferson.

Those left to cherish Kenneth’s memory include his wife of 65 years, Christine; son, Mark (and Sharon) Jefferson; daughter, Linda Jordan; grandchildren, Shawn Jordan, Aaron Jordan, Linsey (and Jerry) Jefferson Miller; brother-in-law, Dick Redding; sister-in-law, Diane Jefferson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth’s family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow, at 3:00 pm at Monte Vista Memorial Park. A procession to Monte Vista will be leaving the Morris-Baker at 2:50 pm.

Active pallbearers will be: Brian Truelove, Steve Head, Mike Tipton, Jerry Miller, Shawn Jordan, and Aaron Jordan.

Memorial contributions are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/give.html).
