Kenrita 'Rita'? Hopson, 67, Johnson City, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Rita was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Imogene Arrowood. Rita worked as a dietician for the VA Medical Center and Asbury Place before her retirement. She was a very active member of Pinecrest Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Bill Arrowood and his wife, Arrielee, Albert Floyd Arrowood and his wife, Shirley, and Kenny Arrowood; one sister, Nevalee Blevins and her husband, Harry; one grandson, Jonathan Gillespie; and brother-in-law, Harry Wilson. She is survived by: her husband of 30 years, Milburn 'Pill'? Hopson; four children, Chris Hefflin and his wife, Rebecca, Tammy Hopson, Kelly Aries and her husband, Wilmer, and Travis Hefflin; six grandchildren, Aaron Dearstone and his wife, Kayla, Ashley Parker, Christian Hefflin II, Kursten 'Blu'? Hefflin, Brittany Delargy, and Brooke Hughes; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Betty J. Wilson; two brothers, Stevie Ray Arrowood and Randy Arrowood and his wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Betty Arrowood. Special thank you to Jackie and James McElyea and Pam Hopson. The family of Rita Hopson will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in Pinecrest Christian Church. The funeral service will begin at 7 pm Tuesday at the church under the direction of Ministers Randall Carrier and Randle Johnson. The graveside service is scheduled for 1 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Steve Arrowood, Randy Arrowood, Aaron Dearstone, Christian Hefflin, James McElyea, Daniel Hopson, and Mike Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Hefflin and Truman Hopson. Ministers, family, and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 pm Wednesday for the service.
