Kittie Kate Silvers Bradford, 97, of Jonesborough, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Yancey County, NC, daughter of the late Joe and Ruth Phillips Silvers. Kittie was a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband while raising eleven children. She was a Charter member of the Community Baptist Church in Jonesborough. Kittie loved gardening, quilting and cooking. In addition to her parents, her husband of 65 years, Frank Bradford preceded her in death in 1996; a son, Kenneth Bradford in 2011, son-in-law, Buck Carver in 2015; a grandson, Timothy Bradford 2010 and a great grandson Joey in 2015; four brothers and four sisters also preceded her. Survivors include: seven sons, and six daughters-in-law, J. C. and Peggy Bradford of West Point, GA, Coy and Anna Sue Bradford of Erwin, Jack and Becky Bradford of Rockford, IL, Dennis and Rita Bradford of Chuckey, Jim and Carol Bradford of Summerville, SC, Mike Bradford of Jonesborough and Richard and Carol Bradford of Johnson City; three daughters and a son-in-law, Volena Carver of the home, Wilma Jean Bergeron of Limestone and Linda and Kenneth Wyatt of Johnson City; seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow in the Dogwood Chapel of the Morris ? Baker Funeral Home at 2:00 pm under the direction of Rev. Bill Ponder and Rev. Roy Yelton. A committal service will be conducted in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be family and friends
