Kristy Pratt, 55, passed away at home in the early morning hours of June 23, 2018, following an 11-year battle with breast cancer. Kristy was the owner and operator of ?The Dance Company' in Boones Creek for 25 years. She began dancing at the age of two, began teaching and choreographing in her teens at the Ann Hodge School of Dance, and over the course of her career taught thousands of girls and several boys. She loved dance and she loved teaching and choreographing, but she loved developing her students into poised, confident, compassionate human beings most of all. She took great pride in watching them succeed beyond dance, and more recently, had the pleasure of teaching the children of many of her former students. There was much more to Kristy than dance, however. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to entertain and feed large gatherings of family and friends. She had a keen mind and a mischievous sense of humor. She loved to laugh. She was competitive at any game she played, and usually found a way to win. She didn?t mind bending rules if the need arose. She was an excellent bowler, golfer, and played a mean game of HORSE. She loved to play corn hole and beer pong, and usually won at both. Her absolute favorite thing, though, was lying in the sun near a beach, lake, or pool, with music blaring and a cold beer nearby. Kristy is survived by her husband Scott Pratt, of Johnson City, her son Dylan Pratt, of Johnson City, her daughter and son-in-law Kody and Andy Rowe, and their children Jonah and Zoey, of Fort Wright, Ky., her stepson Jeremiah Pratt and his wife Meghan, and their daughter Adley, of Knoxville, IA., her mother Ann Hodge, of Johnson City, her brother Kelly Hodge and his wife Jo Anne, of Johnson City, their son Patrick Hodge, of Denver, CO., and their daughter Alexis Duty and her husband Seth, of Johnson City, her brother Kevin Hodge and his wife Susan, of Denver, CO., their daughters, Madeline Hodge, of Irvine, CA., and Andrea Hodge, of Denver, CO., her brother Kendall Hodge, of Johnson City, his daughters Victoria Hodge, of Charlotte, N.C., and Katelyn Hodge, of Johnson City. She is preceded in death by her father, Tom Hodge. A celebration of Kristy?s life will be held Saturday 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Pavilion at the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges in Jonesborough. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
