Mr. Lawrence Dean Barnett Sr. 'Dad'?, 61, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Barnett was a native of New River, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Bonty Butler Barnett and Audrey Slaven Whisenhunt. Mr. Barnett retired from A.B.S in 2005. He was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Mumpower; one great granddaughter, Bryia Tuner; two daughters, Lisa Marie Barnett, and Susie Ann Barnett; three brothers, Roy Barnett, Lloyd Barnett, and Earnest 'Curley'? Barnett. Survivors include: his wife of thirty-seven years, Addie M. Barnett; two sons, Jessee Harrison Barnett and his fiancé Allison 'Peaches'? Everetts, and Lawrence Dean Barnett, Jr. and his fiancé Mellissa Gibson; four daughters, Mary Janes Turner and her husband Terry, Bonnie Ann Barnett and her boyfriend Josue, Audrey Marie Barnett and her fiancé Roger Shepard, and Wendy Panell; one brother, James A. Barnett and his wife Janet; one sister, Faye Barnett and her husband Dallas; seventeen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Lawrence Dean Barnett will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Friday, May 2, 2014, at Morris-Baker. The graveside committal service will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Jonesborough. Rev. Joey Murdock will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Jesse Barnett, Robert Tapp, Buddy Lane, Billy Heaton, Roy Greene, and Terrence Turner.
