Lee Roy Miller

Lee Roy Miller, 85, of 2 Kensington Court , Johnson City, passed away Friday, October 14, 2005 at the North Side Hospital. Born at Marquand, Missouri, he was the son of the late James F. and Eunice (Davis) Miller. He was a World War II veteran with the Army 8th Air Force. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Elizabeth Miller in infancy, one brother, J. W. Miller, two sisters, Anna Faircloth and Fae McLaughlin and one brother and sister in infancy. Lee was a retired College Professor having taught at HCJC in Hutchinson, Kansas, Arkansas City Jr. College, Arkansas City, Kansas and Free Will Baptist College in Mount Olive, North Carolina. After retirement in 1985 he worked as a volunteer 16 years at Tennessee Vocation Rehabilitation Center in Elizabethton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Johnson City where he taught the Big Brothers Sunday School Class for several years. Survivors include; his wife, Carla (Sanders) Miller; three sons, Sanders L. Miller and his wife, Deborah, Charles M. Miller and Paul E. Miller all of Johnson City; three nephews, Harvey Faircloth, Park Hills, Missouri, David Faircloth, Desloge, Missouri and James McLaughlin of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey and special friends, Joe and Terri Davis of Johnson City. A funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 PM Monday from the Morris-North Chapel. Rev. Garland Thayer will officiate. Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Tuesday and proceed to the cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
