Lelia Freeman Clawson

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Mrs. Lelia Freeman Clawson entered into her eternal rest Friday, February 5, 2016 at Lakebridge Health Care Center of Johnson City. She lived most of her life in Washington County. She married Edward C. Clawson on October 18, 1947, who affectionately referred to her as ?The Lady', and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage together before his passing in 2007. She spent the early years of marriage making a home and raising her three children. She worked at Southern Pottery in Erwin prior to marriage and later at Pharmaseal Laboratories, eventually retiring from Texas Instruments. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. Edward C. Clawson; her youngest son, Ronnie B. Clawson; three brothers, Blaine, Ed, and Arthur Freeman; and two sisters, Roxie Clark and Welda Bennett. Survivors include: one son, Larry Clawson and his wife Jeanne, of Johnson City; one daughter, Mary Ann Walser and her husband Harold, of Johnson City; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Phillips, of Johnson City, Mrs. Betty Masters and her husband James, of Chuckey; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lakebridge Health Care Center and Caris Hospice for the kind and compassionate care their mother received during her final months and days. The family of Lelia Clawson will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2016 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Kyker and Rev. Tim Tapp officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession to Monte Vista Memorial Park for 11:00 AM graveside services.
