Leon George Peters

Leon George Peters, 77, of Gray, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Lifecare Center of Gray. Mr. Peters was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John C. and Bessie Lowe Peters. He was also preceded by two sisters and seven brothers. He was a member of Boones Creek Church of Christ. Mr. Peters was a former Mason and Shriner. He was a salesperson at Sears for many years. Mr. Peters was a U. S. Marine veteran. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce Ray Peters; one daughter, Emily Peters of Gray; two sons, Kevin Leon Peters of Johnson City and Todd Peters of Gray; four Grandchildren, Jordan Coffman of Gray, Logan Peters of Johnson City, Shaun Whitson and Hannah Peters both of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from the Mountain Home National Cemetery at 11:00 am. Military Honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW from Kingsport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Monday.
