Leonard Richard Draper, age 84, of Jonesborough, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Draper was born in Louisville, Kentucky, a son of the late Harry Lee Draper and Rosetta Pike Draper. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. Mr. Draper retired from Daniels Construction at Eastman. He was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three wives, Dorothy Lorraine Draper, Margie Lee Draper and Dolly Hilton Draper, one sister, Louise Dean and one brother, Elmer Lee Draper. He is survived by eleven sons, Bobby Draper and partner Janice, of Gastonia, NC, Larry Draper and wife Sharon, of Cuba, MO, Leonard Henry Draper and wife Doris Ann, of Jonesborough, TN, Gary Lee Draper and wife Marcia, of Jonesborough, TN, Dennis Wayne Draper and wife Patsy, of Jonesborough, TN, Carman Draper, of Atlanta, GA, Kenneth Lee Draper and wife Mary, of Johnson City, TN, Clark Neil Draper, of Jonesborough, TN, Johnny Dale Draper, of Florida, Charles Draper, of Johnson City, TN, and Steven Wayne Draper and wife JoAnn, of Jonesborough, TN; three step-sons, Larry Hilton and wife Kathy, of Gray, TN, Lee Hilton and wife Mary, of Gray, TN, and Claude Garland, Jr., of Johnson City, TN; four step-daughters, Linda Bennett and husband Eddie, of Johnson City, TN, Brenda Garland, of Jonesborough, TN, Tammy Garland, of Jonesborough, TN, and Rose Randall and husband Cliff, of Adrian, MI; thirty-three grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 25, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Rogers officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday morning, February 26, 2011 in the Washington County Memory Gardens with military honors to be rendered by the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933 and members of the Tennessee Army National Guard. Pallbearers will be Mr. Drapers grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Cherry Grove Baptist Church. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am Saturday morning.
