Leota L. Woods

Leota Taylor Woods, 82, of 1005 E. Main Street, Jonesborough, died Friday, October 24, 2008 at her residence. She was a native of Carter County, a daughter of the late Isaac Caswell and Nelia Johnson Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Leota was of the Baptist faith, having been raised attending the Beach Cliff Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and mother but had worked previously for Burlington Industries. Survivors include: her husband of 63 years, Frank E. Woods of the home; two sons, Gary M. Woods of Jonesborough and Barry L. Woods of Erwin; three daughters, Shirley Y. Moody of Katy, Texas, Laura D. Woods of Raleigh-Durham, NC and Janet L. Saylor of Gray; a sister, Mary Foulks of Johnson City; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. There are no services scheduled.
