Lesa Carol Trent

January 21, 1957 — June 5, 2023

Lesa Trent, 66, of Gray, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, following a hard battle with cancer.

She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, born on January 21, 1957, to the Late William Bacon and Zelma Hayes Bacon.

Lesa was a woman of God with a heart open to everyone she met. No matter where someone came from, they were treated with respect and care whether she knew them for five months or five minutes. This was a quality that served her well during the 16 years she and her husband, Scott, performed ministry work through Racers for Christ at Bristol Motor Speedway.

She was a woman of many talents: she loved to sew and made beautiful cross-stitch pieces, was a wonderful cook who took pride in keeping her family well-fed, and spent a lot of time in her garden tending her knock-out roses and other blooms. She enjoyed sharing these things with others, always happy to teach others the skills she had worked so hard on.

More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family. Lesa was always there to support her husband as he pastored Glenwood Union Baptist Church, and participated in all church activities she could until her illness. She was also an incredible “MeMe” to her granddaughters, who brightened her life and helped brighten her home as they decorated for every season together.

She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Scott Trent; children, Daniel Trent and wife Rachel, Rebecca Clemmons and husband Michael; grandchildren, Maggie Trent and Abigail Christian; sister, Linda Talley; special nieces, Kelly, Emma, and Kennedy; dear friends, Rhonda French, Larry and Amy Dark, Kenny and Angie Adkins, Bobby Joe and Jenny Barker; as well as many more extended family and friends.

The family of Lesa Trent will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by pastors Kenny Adkins and Scott Trent, with music provided by Bobby Love. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 PM the next day, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Mark Tolliver, Adam Williams, Daniel Trent, Ken Talley, Jason Lyons, and Mike French. Those attending are asked to meet at the graveside by 1:50 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may me made in Lesa’s honor to Glenwood Union Baptist Church, 202 Union Church Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
